Update # 3

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the NCC,

We are writing to each of you at this moment to urge all to participate in bringing together a special collection this Sabbath at the NCC Spiritual Conference for the new Moriah Heights Building.

The project was announced in March of 2015. The following is a short summary of what has occurred since then:

  • We collected about $60,000 in donations during our initial project announcement in March of 2015
  • In July of 2015, the county approved a Use Permit to construct the 4,800 square foot building.
  • In July 2015, many volunteers came to the property to cut down trees, clear the bushes, and to pull out stumps in an effort to clear the area for the building.
  • After waiting for the county to approve plans, in October and November of 2015, work began to level the ground and compact the areas that needed to be filled with dirt.
  • In February of 2016, many volunteers from all the different churches in our Conference helped out in digging the footings for the building.
  • In March of 2016, many volunteers helped out in preparing the structures for the footings of the foundation by hammering wood, trying rebar, bending rebar, and leveling everything out.
  • In April of 2016, the concrete for the footings was poured, the rebar for the foundation was tied up, and the concrete for the foundation was poured.
  • In August of 2016, the metal posts for the walls and roof metal structures were put up
  • In September and October of 2016, the wood for the roof was nailed on.
  • In January and February of 2017, the walls finally came up and many volunteers are to thank for this.
  • In the coming months, many little details were accomplished throughout the building.
  • In June of 2017, an energetic number of volunteers from all over the world helped out in placing the roof tiles throughout the whole roof.
  • Since then, all the windows have been installed, all the doors have been placed, much of the electrical wiring has been finished, the walls have been prepared for final work, and many details have been accomplished.

It has been a long and tiring process, but the Lord has blessed so much with many volunteers, many monetary and material donations, and diligent persevering leaders. Here is an album of a few photos showing the process: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ifbAjxxFJM1giKOI3

With all that being said, there is still quite a bit to do to finish this building and we are in great need of more funds to finish this project completely. Many have already contributed throughout this time, but many have not still. By working together and collecting whatever is possible, we can finish this project and move on to the next one. At this point we need about $60,000 more to finish the project. Additionally, we need all the time and physical assistance we can get on Sundays at 7am. There are many ways to help.

This coming weekend(September 15-17, 2017), we will be having our annual NCC Spiritual Conference in Moriah Heights. We would like to ask every single one of you, whether you have given already or not, to come prepared to give a donation or to pledge a donation for this project(we will be providing cards for this to be possible) during the offering that will be collected at our 11:00am service. With your help and the guidance of our Father in heaven, we can finish this project for the honor and glory of God by the end of this year. We know that God will bless all your efforts in support of this project. Thank you for your help and we look forward to see you in Moriah Heights this Friday! God bless.

On behalf of the NCC Building Committee,

Caleb Fountain | NCC Secretary

Update #2

Since our last update, a lot has happened to further this project. We will update with dates and pictures of when work was done.

In July of 2015, many volunteers came to Moriah Heights to cut down the trees, shred the branches, pull out the stumps, move the remaining logs, and to clear the land to be prepare for the foundation.

Although the Use Permit to construct was approved already, we still had to wait for the Plans of the building to be approved by the County. After a few months of waiting for this to be done, in October through November, work began to level the ground and to compact the areas that were filled with dirt.

After a few more months of waiting for the rain to pass, the plans to be approved, and the soil to become hard, in February, several volunteers from all the churches helped out in digging the footings for the building and prepared them for the next step.

In March, several volunteers from around the Sacramento Area helped out in preparing the structures for the footings to be poured with concrete. This involved hammering the wood together, tying rebar together, bending rebar, and leveling it all out.

This past Monday, the concrete was actually poured and is ready for the next step in the process.

Now we need all the help we can get on Sunday, April 10 @ 6:30am. This will involve spreading out the gravel that is already onsite, connecting all the rebar from side to side, and preparing anything else for the foundation slab to be poured in the coming week!

This is all so exciting and we hope to see you all there to help out.

Update #1

We would like to update you on the status of the Building Project we presented to you all back in March. After several meetings with County officials, we are very happy to announce that on the evening of July 14, 2015, the Amador County Planning Commission finally approved a Use Permit to construct a 4,800 square foot building between the existing Whispering Pines Christian School and the orchard. May God be praised for this opportunity to continue with the plans that have been made.

As of now, we have received $49,471.00 and have $39,429.00 pledged from the day of the presentation on March 1, 2015. Additionally, we collected $1,871.00 from the concert Carmichael Church presented as a fundraiser for the project. Because of the uncertainty with the County approving our plans, we have not spent any of the money that was received and we did not continue to collect the pledges that were made for this project. Now that we have the project approved, we will continue to collect the pledged amounts for 6 months beginning August 1, 2015. If there are any question or problems with this procedure of collecting the full pledged amounts, please feel free to contact David Zic or Jacob Risko.

As was presented, on top of monetary assistance, we will need hands-on assistance in many parts of this project. We will be purchasing a metal building that will be shipped to the property and will be put up by all those that can commit to help out. We will also need volunteers to clear the existing trees, prepare the grounds for the building, and many other tasks that will bring this project to fulfillment. If you have not had the opportunity to help out financially, please contact David Zic for this opportunity. We need chairs, microphone system, ventilation system, and many other things. If you would like to also help out with many of the tasks that will be needed, look for the announcements we will be making through email, church announcements, and the website (www.sdarm.info) in the near future with details of what is needed and when.

Again, we would like to praise God for His guidance in this project and would ask continued prayers from all of you that we may have a smooth completion. If there are any questions about the project, feel free to contact Alfred Balbach (Building Project Committee Chairperson). May the Lord bless all those that have given and will give in every way.
