This is a special Sabbath organized by the Medical Missionary Department of the General Conference Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement!
The theme of this Sabbath will be “Temperance” and all churches are invited to study health principles to promote temperance every day! Balance is the key to good health.
What will you do in your local churches during this Health Sabbath? Some ideas include the following:
Go for a nature walk as a church on Sabbath afternoon
Personal reflection form (available upon request!)
Organize a First Aid course for the local church
Organize a cooking class executed by the members
Start a book club to read Temperance by EGW
Accountability partners (Have members sign up and then divide names into pairs (preferably not from the same household or family). Each person shares their exercise goal with their accountability partner, and they check in with each other at least once a week.)
Invite members to look for “Extras” they may have at home and encourage them to donate it to the Dorcas Dept.
If the local church does not have a Dorcas Dept., items can be sent to:
Extra pantry items to the Food Bank
Extra blankets and towels to pet shelters
Extra clothing to local families in need/shelters
“Extra” money can be donated to the Union or GC Welfare Department
